This is a beta.

We’re launching this psOS on April 18th, 2022. By design, it will never be perfect. As we learn, we’ll be adding new and old Part and Sum content into this Notion, and experimenting with creating and sharing frameworks, formats, models and resources for our community.

Why “psOS”?

The term “digital garden” isn’t inaccurate, but it’s also a term for an organizational structure, not a name ( What’s a Digital Garden?). It also didn’t quite capture our vision for this Learning in Public space - to express our creativity in systems, apply test and learn methodologies to our own work, and continuously build upon something bigger than ourselves.

Something about considering this space to be our operating system struck a chord. As a former product manager, the principles of agile software development came to mind:

You know you’re working with an agile team when these principles are felt through every stage of the product development process. You can see it play out in how a business decision is made or how a developer structures their code. Many of the underlying principles of this manifesto - creativity, flexibility, collaboration - ring true for our work across strategy, branding, innovation, media and growth.

In this way, we’re all developers of this psOS. We’ll be building upon our ways of working in the form of thoughts, insights, and discussions, or coding new theories and ideas into reality alongside our partners in real-time. Our OS Guiding Principles are our version of the agile manifesto.
