Part and Sum is building proprietary AI and data platforms that form the foundation of our internal operations and future productized offerings. We are hiring a Senior Developer – AI & Data Platforms to design and build long-lived internal software assets that will be capitalized as internal-use software and reused across teams and offerings over multiple years.
This role is primarily focused on new platform development, including system architecture, core functionality, and production-grade implementation. It is not a client delivery, support, or maintenance role.
The ideal candidate enjoys turning complex requirements into durable systems, shipping foundational platforms, and building internal products that scale beyond individual use cases.
What you’ll do
Core Responsibilities
- Design and build proprietary AI and data platforms intended for long-term internal use and future commercialization.
- Architect internal systems on Google Cloud (e.g., Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions) as foundational platform components.
- Design and implement LLM-powered architectures (inference pipelines, RAG systems, fine-tuning workflows) as reusable internal capabilities.
- Build core data and ML pipelines that serve as shared infrastructure across analytics, automation, and intelligence use cases.
- Develop APIs and backend services that constitute core platform functionality, not one-off tools.
- Own platform development from requirements definition and architecture through initial production deployment.
- Establish scalable engineering patterns, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, environment management, and observability as part of platform buildout.
- Define and document system architectures to support reuse, extensibility, and long-term maintenance.
Collaboration & Input (Non-Primary)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into platform requirements and reusable technical designs.
- Provide architectural input that enables downstream teams to build on top of internal platforms.
Note: Ongoing operational support, client-specific customization, and routine maintenance are not the primary focus of this role and are considered secondary activities.
How Success Is Measured
- Delivery of production-ready internal platforms that qualify as capitalized internal-use software
- Creation of reusable systems adopted across multiple internal teams or offerings
