The Latest from Part and Sum

Good morning Part and Summaries readers,

It’s been a busy week! Last Thursday and Friday, Part and Sum hosted our 18th “Together” quarterly meeting. Matt K. Parker, the author of A Radical Enterprise, joined us to share his insights and frameworks for setting high-performing teams up for success. We were especially intrigued by his four imperatives for maximum leadership within organizations: team autonomy, managerial devolution, deficiency gratification, and candid vulnerability.

We also launched our new Part and Sum Operating System (psOS), a digital space where our team learns and shares resources in public. Jim shared a few more taxonomies, mental models and organizational systems that inspired our design and guiding principles, including Wikipedia’s boldness of action and Everything Is Miscellaneous's posit that an ideal information system is inherently biased. As we build this space, our OS principles are our way of driving inclusion and accessibility while enabling creativity and autonomy.

To bold actions,

Amelia

From the psOS

Every project starts with a plan

“Hey Mary, I have a new project for you!”

So you get a slack, call, random meeting invite and SURPRISE, you’re leading a new client project. Congrats! Leadership has likely been talking to the client for weeks, and perhaps relays the information verbally or shares some notes.

You’re asked to get started, but where do you...start?
