Part and Sum’s Statement on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility (DEIBA)

We're on a mission to build the world's best environment for curious, smart, and driven people who want to practice their craft of helping client teams and each other figure it out. To succeed, this environment must be a safe space.

As consultants, strategists, growth marketers and systems builders working across a variety of industries, we understand our responsibility to ensure that our work, our relationships, and the systems we help build are inclusive of all identities and abilities.

We believe in surfacing actionable truths and tight feedback loops that help us quickly improve our work, ourselves, and our relationships with each other. We all win when every individual is given the tools they need to succeed.

We do not tolerate acts of discrimination, hurtful language, or propagating discriminatory ideologies.

And finally, we believe in action.  Here are some concrete measures that we currently take at Part and Sum to foster an inclusive work environment:

• We are transparent about our pay bands for each role level during the hiring process and throughout an employee’s time with us.
• We are mindful of our values when choosing clients and who we work with.
• We fire clients when their behavior habitually doesn't live up to our values.
• We enforce a kindness policy: no one on our team has the right to disrespect others. This includes promoting a compassionate culture on day one of onboarding employees.
• We conduct an optional annual survey to understand how Part and Sum can continue to support and foster an inclusive workforce.
• We are a remote-first organization and provide a $500 work-from-home stipend for employees to make their workspace work for them. We also prioritize an individual’s preference when choosing between office space or virtual work.
• We balance autonomy with individualized support that meets people where they are and helps everyone succeed and grow.
• We have a non-accrual-based PTO policy and generous parental leave benefits, providing every individual with more flexibility when balancing work and life.

As an organization, we have also donated over 200 hours to MADE BK; a non-profit dedicated to supporting black and brown entrepreneurs in Brooklyn. We also continue to work with DEIBA partners to help us continue to create the world we want to see.
